City market
The Basel city market is the largest and most traditional fresh produce market in the city. Almost 90 per cent of the fruit and vegetables on offer at the city market come from the immediate vicinity of Basel. This guarantees not only fresh, seasonal goods, but also short travel distances.
Fresh produce from the region in the heart of Basel
For regional producers, the city’s most traditional and biggest fresh goods market is a matter close to their hearts. Located in front of the historic City Hall (Rathaus), the market is a colourful event, offering an abundance of delicacies and specialities such as vegetables and fruits, flowers, sausages, mushrooms, honey, baked goods, tea and much more. A cup of coffee, a delicious lunch and cosy seating complete the market. The market has a long tradition and is situated at the heart of Basel in an exclusive business area. Gourmets will find delicacies and specialities from the region and the marketeers offer personal advice.
