The Street food market is a gourmet market held at Marktplatz. It offers a wide variety of delicious foods and beverages. The Marktplatz transforms into a meeting place for anyone who wants to stop by for a quick bite or a spontaneous drink.
It is aimed at both connoisseurs of more traditional cuisine as well as people who are open to new food trends like the street food movement. Its main objective is to serve fun, creative and healthy food that is still uncomplicated an quickly served. A wide range of culinary delights is offered, including curry sausage and other grilled products, mushroom dishes, Thai cuisine, fish crispies, many types of chips, piadinas and various sandwiches as well as different sorts of baked goods and coffee specialities, and lunch menus with and without meat. Numerous seating areas invite you to relax and watch the activity.

Basel city centre traffic concept
Market traders do not require a special access permit. The market permit is also the entry permit for the city centre and must be carried in the vehicle by the permit holder.
